A February with The Decemberists

My cousin introduced me to ‘The Decemberists’ and I took an instant liking to them. They are an indie rock band from Portland, Oregon. The band’s songs range from upbeat pop to instrumentally lush ballads. Their lyircs have a striking similarity to the “dramatic narrative” style of poetry. Quoting, “the band eschews the angst and introspection common to modern rock, instead favoring a storytelling approach.”

This song is called "Down by the water" and it's from their latest album "The King is Dead". The other songs in the album are good too.The upbeat and catchy "Rox in the Box" is another favourite along with the sombre "January Hymn". Each album stands apart from the other, as they boldly experiment a wide paradigm of musical styles.
